Loreen (born Lorine Zeineb Nora Talhaoui, 16 October 1983 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish singer and music producer of Moroccan Berber descent. Loreen got her start in the music industry after participating in the popular televised Swedish music competition Idol 2004, coming fourth overall. After a long hiatus working as a segment producer and director for reality TV shows she returned to the public eye when she entered Melodifestivalen 2011 with the song My Heart Is Refusing Me. The song finished fourth in the second semi-final, which qualified her for a place in the second chance round.
Competing the following year, Loreen returned with Euphoria. She qualified from the first semi-final, later winning the final with one of the biggest margins in Melodifestivalen history. Representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the song was hot favourite to win the competiton. After qualifying from the second semi-final, Loreen won the final with a total of 372 points, bringing Sweden its fourth win overall. Euphoria later gained worldwide success, topping charts in 18 countries. After a brief promotional tour, Loreen released her debut album Heal. She has since resumed touring and has used her platform to support human rights across the globe.
