Just like a flower when winter begins
Just like a candle blown out in the wind
Just like a bird that can no longer fly
I’m feeling that way sometime
But then, as I’m falling, weighed down by the load
I picture a light at the end of the road
And closing my eyes, I can see through the dark
The dream that is in my heart
A little lovin’, a little givin’
To build a dream for the world we live in
A little patience and understanding
For our tomorrow, a little peace
A little sunshine, a sea of gladness
To wash away all the tears of sadness
A little hoping, a little praying
For our tomorrow, a little peace
I feel I’m a leaf in the November snow
I fell to the ground, there was no one below
So now I am helpless, alone with my song
Just wishing the storm was gone
A little lovin’, a little givin’
To build a dream for the world we live in
A little patience and understanding
For our tomorrow, a little peace
A little sunshine, a sea of gladness
To wash away all the tears of sadness
A little hoping, a little praying
For our tomorrow, a little peace
We are feathers on the breeze
(A little lovin’, a little givin’)
(To build a dream for the world we live in)
Sing with me my song of peace
(A little patience and understanding)
(For our tomorrow, a little peace)
We are feathers on the breeze
(A little sunshine, a sea of gladness)
(To wash away all the tears of sadness)
Sing with me my song of peace
(A little hoping, a little praying)
(For our tomorrow, a little peace)
I bought this and the original German version (Ein Bisschen Frieden) of the single back in 1982 and have always loved the song and the vocal style and delivery of Nicole. It was a joy to hear when she sung in Harrogate for the Eurovision Song Contest and won it in ’82. It is a song I often dig out of my collection and seems most poignant now during the troubles times our world is enduring.
this song just touched my heart.
A fantastic song that is sung so well i found it by accident its a breath of fresh air thank you
Such a beautiful song! It touched my heart and soul.
This song also touched my heart first time I heard Nicole sing it. My favourite ESC of all time. Mum also liked it and it believe the words are more relevant in these times more than ever
My one and only Eurovision entry that I wanted to win that actually did. Simplistic but pure and beautifully sung, especially in the many languages. A true bit of peace.
We used to sing this at school assembly! Such glorious memories.. 🙂
A most beautiful song
I have it in my music collection and i often re play it.
Glad to hear it on Euro collection last evening
