Non mi chiami mai, no, no, no, no

Siamo tutti insoddisfatti, come mai?
Femmina, se non riceve non si da
Lala lala lala la…

Ooh… lalalala…

Non mi chiami mai, no, no, no, no

Confesserò che no mi perdo niente davvero

Siamo tutti insoddisfatti, come mai?
Femmina, se non riceve non si da
Lala lala lala la…

Translation
But how hot it is in the city today
There’s a hammer in my head that goes boom, boom, boom
Partly hysterical, you know what’s new
People who judge me and you boom, boom, boom

I don’t know if you’ll come back, I don’t know if you are there
Don’t ever call me, no, no, no, no
Tell me, do you ever cry?
Tell me where you go when I want you

Love is female, if you don’t get by
(Tick tock, you don’t get by)
I take it easy, calculating the chances
(Tick tock, one chance)

What do you want that you don’t have?
We are all dissatisfied, but why?
Female, but you don’t get by
Lala lala lala la…

Ooh… lalalala…

I feel the panic, I try to breathe
The paranoia rises and you will be thrown down
Don’t pretend that it’s easy
There is a hammer inside my heart that goes boom, boom, boom

(I don’t know if you’ll come back) I don’t know if you are there
Don’t ever call me, no, no, no, no
(Tell me, do you ever cry?)
Tell me where you go when I want you

Love is female, if you don’t get by
(Tick tock, you don’t get by)
I take it easy, calculating the chances
(Tick tock, one chance)

What do you want that you don’t have?
We are all dissatisfied, but why?
Female, but you don’t get by
Lala lala lala la…

But how hot it is now
I will confess that I don’t really lose anything
I imagined the two of us only in thought

Love is female, if you don’t get by
(Tick tock, you don’t get by)
I take it easy, calculating the chances
(Tick tock, one chance)

What do you want that you don’t have?
We are all dissatisfied, but why?
Female, but you don’t get by
Lala lala lala la…

Much better than the english version. What a mistake!

  • Madison says:

I agree. The Italian version is much better …. But still i hope Italy wins …. such a great Song

  • Jess from Australia says:

“Love is female” makes no sense to an English speaker. I was talking to a native Italian speaker on YouTube and agreed with him when he said it should be translated into English as “Love is a woman” or even “A woman’s love”. So that first line should be translated SOMETHING like “love is a woman, that you are not getting (from me)” as it makes a lot more sense to English-speakers. The literal translation is nonsensical, because occasionally you have words that just can’t be translated into English, or words that a certain dialect use etc.

Anyway, I LOVE the Italian version of this song. I wish she had sung it for Eurovision, who knows, she might have gotten more votes 🙂
